We need your support

This website plus the ISO27k Toolkit, ISO27k Forum and ISO27k FAQ have been provided since 2005, as a free service to the information security management community.

We incur substantial costs to do so. Aside from webhosting, we invest hundreds of man-hours per year to maintain and promote the website, inform, support and encourage users, respond to queries and generally keep this project rolling along.

As you can plainly see, the website design is dated and, as the number of ISO27k standards increases, the effort to maintain it is becoming problematic ... so it has been proposed to migrate the website to a cloud-based service that should make things easier.

The problem is that migration will be costly and time-consuming, so we are appealing for your assistance.

Seven ways to support this project

  1. The most direct way is to donate funds via PayPal.  Can you afford a month’s hosting or a year’s domain registration (US$20)?  Would you support migrating this website to Wix (US$168/yr) so we can modernise the design and offer a responsive desktop and mobile-friendly format?

  1. Sponsor this project. Financial contributions from commercial organisations and subscriptions from individuals help us plan and fund further work. Please get in touch if you’re willing to contribute regularly or require a tax invoice and receipt.
  2. Click the ads or links to visit our sponsors’ websites. You never know, you might find exactly what you need right there, and we may earn a little sales commission or income to offset our cost. For instance, buying ISO27k standards, books etc. through Amazon earns us a pittance. Likewise if you sign-up for Google Workspace.

  1. If you are as cash-strapped as we are, we also welcome additional content such as materials for the ISO27k Toolkit, both new stuff and updates to the existing or older materials. Provided you own or have the copyright holder’s express permission to share example documents, templates, briefings, checklists etc., please get in touch. We can help you remove any sensitive/proprietary content and emphasise generic aspects, specify a Creative Commons license, perhaps format the content in accordance with the style of other items in the Toolkit, then generate and publish your material. We’re looking for genuinely useful content, not sales blurb ... but samplers/simplified versions of the stuff you sell may be OK, complete with discreet links to your website if you wish. We’re happy to acknowledge our donors and supporters, quid pro quo.
  2. Inbound links to this website are much appreciated. Help us keep ISO27001security dotcom high on the search engine results pages, spreading the word far-and-wide. Tell your colleagues about the information, guidance, templates and other materials available here for free. Spread the word. The more promotion you do, the more visitors we get and the more encouraged we are to continue.
  3. We also welcome news about the ISO27k and other information security and privacy standards, implementation case studies, tips from the trenches and certification auditors, contributions from members of SC 27 and other standards bodies, valid shortcuts, tarpits and gotchas to avoid and so forth - almost anything in fact that would help members of the global ISO27k user community. Tell us about your ISO27k journey. Help us recruit and welcome newcomers to the information risk and security profession. Again, please contact us if it is appropriate to incorporate something into this website, or simply share your knowledge and wisdom through the ISO27k Forum. Do your bit for the global infosec community and all those who depend on us.
  4. Think nice thoughts. Send us good vibes. Support us in a zen kind of way. Maybe in time you will be in a position to offer something more valuable but for now we thank you for your kindness.

Or else ...

Maybe after two decades, it’s time to shut up shop if we are no longer delivering sufficient value to justify your continued support. Having given everything away for free, the domain name is our main commercially-valuable asset, so expressions of interest and serious offers to buy ISO27001security.com are welcome. Please get in touch.
